You can learn it in 5 minutes.

Duel Masters is a trading card game that has been played in Japan for over 25 years. It is fast, easy to start, and hard to put down. Official products are now available across Southeast Asia.

The cards are printed in Japanese. That is exactly why this site exists: every deck, every card, and every rule is explained here in English, Thai, and Malay.

How the game works
1

Your deck is 40 cards. Your life is 5 shields.

At the start, the top 5 cards of your deck are placed face down as Shields. Break all 5 of your opponent's shields, land one more attack, and you win.

2

Any card can become mana.

Once per turn, put one card from your hand into your Mana Zone. You tap mana to pay for cards. There are no separate "land" or "energy" cards, so you are never stuck with the wrong draw.

3

Summon creatures. Cast spells.

Cards belong to 5 Civilizations: Fire, Water, Nature, Light, and Darkness. Each color fights differently. Fire attacks fast, Water draws cards, Nature grows mana, Light defends, Darkness destroys.

4

Attack shields. But breaking them helps your opponent too.

When your creature breaks a shield, that card goes to your opponent's hand. Attacking recklessly gives them resources. This is where the strategy lives.

5

Shield Trigger: the comeback button.

Some cards show a Shield Trigger icon. If one is broken as a shield, you may use it immediately for free. Games can turn around on the very last shield. No lead is ever safe.

6

That is the whole core. Everything else you learn by playing.

Keywords like Blocker or Hyper Mode are explained on each card page on this site, in plain language, when you actually meet them.
